W-ELCA is the women's ministry of Desert Hills Lutheran.  They meet at Noon on the second Monday of each month for lunch and a program.

DHLC's 6th Annual Fall Quilt, Craft Bake and Book Sale on Saturday, November 8 from 8 am to 2 p.m.  Quilts of all sizes, table-top fashions, jewelry, apparel, bake sale, Cafe, holiday decorations, gourds, used books, Fair Trade coffee ... and much more! 

November 10: Women's Ministry Luncheon - "Back to the Future" is the theme and program for our November 10th salad potluck luncheon.  (You are encouraged to wear your high school colors!)  Tickets are $3 and they are available after worship and in the church office until November 5.  The mission project is Arizona Kairos Outside in Tucson- click here for information. 

 

December 8: Women's Ministry Advent by Candlelight - Special Music by the Voices of Miriam.  Dessert provided by table hostesses.  Special Time for this month: 1:00 p.m.  Mildred Waidlich of American Heartland will be the program speaker.  You are invited to bring a monetary donation to help defray the cost of American Heartland mailing cookies to deployed servicemen and women.  Devotions by Barb Sikkink.

Women's Depression Support Group - Do you suffer situational depression, chronic depression, or major depression?  As women, we experience unique challenges with depression, especially as we age and we experience hormonal changes.  Combating depression, especially chornic depression and/or major depression, is often best treated by a combination of antidepressants, talk therapy and group therapy.  If you have been diagnosed with depression, chronic depression, or major depression, then this support group can benefit you.  We meet at DHLC on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. in the Sunday School Room.  The Sunday School Room door has outside access, sos the grou will be able to remain anonymous.  The group is facilitated by Holly Brown-Sisson, Counselor with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest.  A $10 donation is requested, and scholarships are available.  If you are interesed in participating, please call Holly at 520-748-2300, ext. 21.

The Sewing Bee meets from 9:00 a.m. to Noon every Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall for quilting and making crafts.  DHLC's 6th Annual Fall Quilt, Craft Bake and Book Sale on Saturday, November 8 from 8 am to 2 p.m.  Quilts of all sizes, table-top fashions, jewelry, apparel, bake sale, Cafe, holiday decorations, gourds, used books, Fair Trade coffee ... and much more!  The Sewing Bee is finishing beautiful quilts of all sizes and colors and making craft items which will be offered for sale.  Proceeds from the sale are given to charities, and the four recipients selected for this year are (click on these links for more information) Youth On Their Own, Tucson; St. Andrew's Clinic, Nogales; Green Valley Food Bank; and, the Navajo Lutheran School, Rock Point, AZ.  Matching funds are provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  For more information about the Boutique, contact Mary at 625-3742.
