New Member Classes This Winter
If you are considering membership with Desert Hills Lutheran Church we invite you to participate in a New Member Classes. The next session will begin Thursday, April 15; classes are at 10:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. -- select the time that is best for you. The class meets for one hour a week for six times. The last session is a celebration dinner in the evening. New members will be taken in at Saturday night and Sunday morning services. You may register for this series of classes by calling Janice Oberdank at the church office, 520-648-1633, or mark your interest on the worship Response Sheet on the last page of Sunday's church bulletin.
There are three types of membership: Active, Associate and Winter Members.
- Active Members hold their membership in DHLC.
- Associate Members are persons holding membership in other Christian congregations who wish to retain such membership but desire to also participate in the life and mission of DHLC, or persons who wish to retain a relationship with DHLC while being members of other Christian congregations. Associate Members have all the privileges and duties of membership except voting rights and eligibility for elected offices or membership on the Congregation Council of DHLC.
- Winter Members are persons who spend five months or more year in this area. Winter Members should consider DHLC as their home church during the time that they live in our area. They have the same status as Active Members, including voting privileges on all issues except those associated with the Grand Canyon Synod or the ELCA. Winter Members may also eligible for election and serve as voting members of the Congregation Council.
