Music--The Voices of Miriam, Bell Choir, Summer Singers, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Clarinet Choir provide music at various worship services throughout the summer. During the rest of the year the Chancel Choir, Joy Ringers, the Brass Choir and Celebration Singers also add music to our worship experience. (See our "Music" page posted under "Ministries" if you are interested in one of our choirs or instrumental groups).
Children are welcome to come forward for an informal time with a children's sermon at all worship services.
Sunday School Classes are taught from September-May for children K-6th grade at 9:30 a.m.
Confirmation Classes for 7th and 8th graders are available each year. Contact Pastor Overson.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd weekends of each month. Here at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, we have an "open-table" policy; therefore, anyone who professes Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior may partake of communion. We have a choice of red wine or white grape juice; you may also choose regular wafers or gluten-free wafers at each service.
Healing services are held on the 2nd Sunday after the 11 am worship service. Anyone wanting prayers for healing may come forward. One of our pastors offers specific prayers for each individual and the anoints him or her with oil. Healing services are prayerful, quiet, and solemn times. Those who remain in the pew may offer silent prayers for those who come forward.
Baptism of babies, children or adults during the worship service.
Contact Pastor Overson to set up a time.
