DESERT HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH FOUNDATION      


The DHLC Foundation grants for FY 2007-2008 includes:  $1,200 to the Green Valley Food Bank (linked for more information) for the "Milk for Kids" which is a one monthly supply of fresh milk.  $1,115 to St. Andrew's Children's Clinic (linked for more information) for a custom designed wheelchair to provide mobility to a severely disabled girl.  $1,075 to the Desert Hills Lutheran Katrina Mission Team to assist with expenses incurred during this volunteer working experience.

The Desert Hills Lutheran Church Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2004.  The intent of the corporation is to distribute the net income annually on a one year lagging basis.  The Bylaws state that there shall be no distribution of principal.  The distributions of the corporation may be designated, but not limited, to the following purposes: local missions, outreach, evangelism, scholarships, ministry to youth, ministry to the aged, promotion of worship services, provide for growth, and support to the pastoral team.

You may designate the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance policy, pension and profit-sharing plan, and other estate instruments.

Foundation Board members are Robert Bonnema,President; Donald Duensing, Vice-President; Ed Wismeyer, Treasurer; Hart Holmberg, Secretary; Mary Jensen; Shirley Johnson; Bill Leonard; Gary Mahnke; Dale Mathwich; Fred Tollefson, Congregation Council Liaison.  Pastor Martin Overson is an advisory member of the Board.
