DHLC Erickson Library*

The Erickson Library is located at the west end of the Fellowship Hall.

When responding to a recent request for material related to a major life change, we were presented with the opportunity to add some new things to our collection. You, too, can help us with your suggestions on material that you have found to be helpful in working out such issues as death, divorce, separation from loved ones, caring for grandchildren, or helping adult children with problems in their lives. Leave a note in the check-out card boxes, give us a call, or leave a message in our library mailbox at church.  Fiction or non-fiction books, DVDs, or CDs.

We welcome your ideas.

Our Erickson Library is open and staffed on Mondays from 2-4 pm.  Come in for a visit.

Thanks to the generosity of DHLC readers who want to share good books with other readers.

Previous Additions

NON-FICTION:  "Religion of Paul the Apostle" (Ashton); "Biblical Amnesia" (Gustafson); "Freedom of Simplicity" (Foster); "Generous Orthodox" (McLaren).  Two just-published caregiving books,  "My Maggie" (King) and "A Family Caregiver Speaks Up" (Mintz) offer helpful suggestions and comfort for caregivers and their family members.

FICTION:  A 1999 publication, "These Is My Words" (Turner), is the 2008 designated "One Book Arizona".  It is historical fiction with the author using her family's 19th Century diaries in the weaving of this pioneer story.

MEDIA:  All will enjoy the Disneyfamily video "Air Bud" (a dog and a baseball!).   The DVD "Crossing Arizona" focuses on the immigrant situation from all sides of the border.

Two copies of the DVD "Amazing Grace" have been added to the library.  If you missed this timely movie at theaters, you'll want to borrow this film.  It is an in-depth look at the events that wound around the history of this classic hymn.
