DHLC Erickson Library

The Erickson Library, located in the west end of the Fellowship Hall, is kicking off 2008 with many new offerings, thanks to the generosity of DHLC readers who want to share good books with other readers.  New additions include:

NON-FICTION:  "Religion of Paul the Apostle" (Ashton); "Biblical Amnesia" (Gustafson); "Freedom of Simplicity" (Foster); "Generous Orthodox" (McLaren).  Two just-published caregiving books,  "My Maggie" (King) and "A Family Caregiver Speaks Up" (Mintz) offer helpful suggestions and comfort for caregivers and their family members.

FICTION:  A 1999 publication, "These Is My Words" (Turner), is the 2008 designated "One Book Arizona".  It is historical fiction with the author using her family's 19th Century diaries in the weaving of this pioneer story.

MEDIA:  All will enjoy the Disneyfamily video "Air Bud" (a dog and a baseball!).   The DVD "Crossing Arizona" focuses on the immigrant situation from all sides of the border.

Two copies of the DVD "Amazing Grace" have been added to the library.  If you missed this timely movie at theaters last year, you'll want to borrow this film.  It is an in-depth look at the events that wound around the history of this classic hymn.
