DHLC Youth Group Plans for the Future
YOUTH GROUP will be meet in the church library at 3 p.m. All youth are welcome...so, bring a friend! Call Tammy and Larry if you have questions.

Our youth group participated in the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer. They joined 37,000 other Lutheran youth and adults for one week; this event strives to deepen an awareness of God's call to life-long service. The theme was "Jesus, Justice, and Jazz" and centers on Philippians 2:1-8. Their days were filled with worship, music, Bible study, service projects, learning, play, prayer, reflection, new friendships, and caring for others.
Thank you to the congregation for their prayers and financial support of this "first" for our DHLC youth.
On November 21, at 6 pm, the Youth Group hosted a New Orleans Dinner Celebration for the congregation. At this time, they shared pictures, gave testimony and answered questions about their work and their mission while in New Orleans. Watch for details in "Quail Notes."

Blender Bash a Success - The youth of DHLC raised $783.50 on Sunday, April 26,to purchase blenders for the families of children served by St. Andrew's Childrens' Clinic. The congregation enjoyed the milkshakes served between services. To further support the project, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans presented a check to the youth for an additional $500 for the Blender Bash.

Tammy Kempton, volunteer youth group leader, writes, "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the congregation for your support of this new group. What a joy it is to worship with you and to share my faith with these youth as they seek God's will for their lives. What a blessing we all share as we journey together in Christ."
