The Rev. Dr. Martin Overson, Senior Pastor

Rev. Ken Nyhusmoen, Associate Pastor

Every weekend before worship we announce our mission to ourselves and our guests — that as a Lutheran congregation we love to celebrate grace, we love to make disciples and we love to make a difference. With these words we celebrate the grace of faith in Christ Jesus. We declare our intention to go, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to make disciples. And, we declare our intention of living out our faith by making a difference with God’s help in acts of love and mercy in the world.

As our mission states, we have many opportunities for our members and friends to serve both DHLC and the community including Bible Fellowship, Bible studies, ChristCare groups, Men’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries, book discussion groups, Footloose Singles Group, Health & Wellness Ministry, Prayer Ministry, Music Ministry, Outreach and Pass It Forward groups, Sewing Bee, Global and Local Missions and many church committees.

DHLC’s rich history started with our first worship service attended by 50 people in 1984, and by the time the congregation organized in March 1986, there were 98 members. Those Charter Members’ hard work and dedication provided the seed for today’s Desert Hills Lutheran Church. We now have 1,100 members and serve over 1,800 on the weekends in the winter months!

The Pastor and Congregation of Desert Hills Lutheran invite anyone who is interested in finding a church, or just looking to visit, to attend one of our many worship services.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope to see you soon.
