Series:
Summary
The prophet Samuel had deep reservations when Israel asked for a king, but God told him to go ahead and anoint Saul as Israel’s first king. Saul was everything one wanted in a king: strong, tall, and a good military mind, but soon Saul got into trouble with God. As a result, Samuel found himself in a difficult position, anointing David as the new king while King Saul was still in power. This messy story reveals how God’s plans are not always straightforward and, at times, require those called to change directions or make difficult decisions.
