There Is a Cost - Sunday 8 AM
Series:
Summary
In this weekend’s reading from Luke, Jesus reminds the disciples that there is a cost to being one of his followers; sacrifices must be made. If one thinks about life, we are constantly making sacrifices for things that are important to us. Consider the sacrifices you’ve made for your children, such as helping with homework, traveling to sporting events, and attending music recitals, all while ensuring they have a roof over their heads. But it does not stop there; we also make sacrifices for our careers, relationships, aging parents, and the list goes on.
So, what Jesus is asking of us, sacrificing for the Kingdom of God, is not something new. The real challenge lies in our priorities. Jesus is asking us whether the Kingdom of God is such a strong priority that we are willing to sacrifice in order to experience the life and joy it offers.
