This Advent season, you chose to make God’s love real and to show this love to your brothers and sisters in need. Because of your donations to Desert Hills Lutheran’s annual December ELCA Good Gifts Program, more than $27,000 was raised. Thank you!
Where does this money go? Who benefits from your gifts?
Because of your generosity, over 150 families will have barnyard animals to feed themselves, including chicks, piglets, and goats; more than 50 children will be able to continue or begin their education due to donations that pay for school supplies, tuition, and fees; medical clinics will be stocked and over 50 individuals will receive care, including vaccinations; and, finally whole communities of up to 500 people each will have access to clean safe water, which will not only sustain lives, but will also free up the time spent by women and children hauling water for hours every day. Over five community wells and numerous family water filters will be funded through the gifts you chose.
