Bookmen is a men’s book discussion group that meets every Wednesday from 7:45 am – 9:00 am for fellowship, book discussion, and outreach. The typical format consists of fellowship over coffee, announcements and updates for the group, group prayer, current and historical events, and discussion of a few chapters of the current book. Nominations for the next book to be read are taken from the group, and everyone votes for their choice. Bookmen also collect peanut butter donations for the Green Valley Food Bank on the first Wednesday of each month. In addition, $1 per person is collected at each meeting. Because of these donations, Bookmen can support projects of the DHLC Foundation in memory of their members.
