A new ministry at Desert Hills Lutheran Church will offer weekly visits to the homebound who would enjoy casual conversation with a visitor. Members of the church are invited to consider becoming a "visitor" to a host or the person homebound. Good conversationalists, people who enjoy being with others make great ministers in this work of caring. There will be a matching process to pair up each visitor with a host needing the visits.
This ministry is about having time together to share and support the person at home, but it is not a shopping or ride service for the homebound. Those services are provided by other organizations in Green Valley. Those involved in this ministry will meet monthly to reflect on their experiences and support each other in this outreach.
More information about this ministry is available at the church office, or by calling Chaplain Mark Westrich.
