Grieving is a personal journey that everyone takes after losing a loved one. For some, the journey is longer and perhaps more difficult than for others, but each journey does not need to be traveled alone.
Chaplain Mark Westrich will be holding the first session of the Grief Support Group, using the GriefShare program, beginning on Tuesday, February 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This GriefShare program will run for thirteen weeks and cover the journey from “Mourning to Joy.” Although it is hoped that participants will attend all thirteen meetings, it is important to know that each session is a standalone opportunity to address thirteen topics of discussion for grief. The thirteen subjects that will be covered are:
- Is this normal?
- Your Grief Journey
- Loneliness & Sadness
- Self-Care
- Fearful & Overwhelmed
- Anger
- Regrets
- Grief & Your Household
- Grief & Your Friendships
- Questions for God
- Stuck in Grief
- Hope & Resilience
- What Do I Live for Now?
GriefShare is built around three components that work together to cover the topics to be discussed: The video seminar portion offers expert teaching on topics important to people in grief; the small group discussion segment allows participants to discuss how the video concepts relate to their own experiences; the workbook provides a video note-taking tool and a daily Bible study for personal study, journaling, and application of the concepts presented in the weekly videos.
We are asking for a donation of $20 to help cover the cost of the workbook which is part of the GriefShare program. If you would like more information or wish to sign up, please contact the church office at 520 648-1633. This is a journey that does not need to be traveled alone.
