Last week, we heard of the calling of Abraham and God’s promise to him and his wife Sarah of a child. Now that child is under threat from God. God has asked Abraham to sacrifice Issac, his son of the promise, back to God. How can God ask for such a sacrifice? Why would Abraham even consider it? This weekend’s text raises a lot of questions about the expectations of God. Come this weekend to hear how it all plays out and what it might say about our own faith journey.
