Summary
This weekend, we reflected on what it would be like to be one of the early followers of Jesus. We heard Jesus tell prospective disciples the hardships they would face. Despite this, many still wanted to follow him, only on their own terms. Jesus’ answer is always a welcoming “yes” to anyone who wants to join him. However, we often place our own conditions on how we will follow. As a result, we end up following our own ideas and roam further away from the one who leads us.
This weekend, we are reminded that Jesus is the one we follow. We need to trust him and join in the community that he has created out of love, which gives grace to us all. Come and join us; the invitation has been made.
