Summary
In Romans 8, Paul makes the outrageous claim that God adopts us as his children, bringing us into the family of God. We are then called children of God, making us equal in Roman eyes with the emperor who they called the son of God. In this adoption, God chooses to invest in us God’s spirit and love. Our lives can now be spirit-led and not flesh-led which always leads to death. Because of God’s nature and desire for us, our lives now have purpose and meaning.
