More than the Mountain - Saturday 3 PM
Series: Epiphany
Summary
It is great to get out of town, to visit new places, and experience new things. However, when we return home, we often face the challenges of our everyday lives – our jobs, unpacking, dirty laundry, and catching up on mail. Yet, those “mountain top” experiences can give us a sense of who we are and whose we are. The experience on the mountaintop was not intended for Jesus; it was meant for his disciples to hear the words, “This is my Son, the Chosen one, listen to him.”
Traditionally, Transfiguration Weekend falls on the weekend before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of our journey toward the cross and Jesus’ resurrection. This weekend’s words, give us the strength to know that no matter what lies ahead, Jesus is the Son of God.
