Mosaic Covenant "A Wildness Guide" - Sun. March 3, 2024

Series: The Covenants of God

Summary

In the book of Exodus, God says to Moses, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” These words to Moses and the people of Israel are an introduction to what has come to be known as the Ten Commandments. These words remind us of the relational aspect of the commands that follow. God is not saying that if we follow these commands, then he will be our God. Rather, God is telling us that he loves us and has provided for us, and this is how we are to respond and live into our relationship. The Ten Commandments were meant to help shape a people as they were called out of slavery and brought to a new land to be a new people. Never were the commands meant to earn God’s love but to be a response to God’s love.
