When we think of Jesus, we often think of peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. Yet, this weekend, Jesus tells us that he did not come to bring peace but division. How is that possible? Isn’t there already enough division? Do we really need more conflict in our lives? What is the cause of this division, and how does it help us understand the opposition Jesus faced when he was proclaiming the good news of God?
