The Season of Christmas - Saturday 3 PM
Series:
Summary
The season of Christmas is often a time to get a new outfit, whether it’s a new Christmas sweater for a party, a new Christmas tie, or perhaps as a gift under the tree. As a child, I remember we opened one present on Christmas Eve which was always a new clothing item to wear on Christmas Day to church. There can be something powerful about receiving new clothing; it can make you feel like a new person.
In Colossians, we are told to “put on” the love of Christ, when Paul reminds us that our righteousness is not something we have in ourselves but a righteousness of Christ. By putting on His righteousness, we become a new person who can act with kindness and love for others, empowered to live in community with each other.
