What Does It Take - Sunday 8 AM

Series:

Summary

Jesus, in the parable this weekend, did not say that money was evil. He did not say that you had to be poor to enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus did say that we are to live out the message of love, care, and grace that his kingdom is about. We have all been blessed with gifts, and to acknowledge that all of this is provided for us by a God who repeatedly tells us to care for one another as well as ourselves. The rich man’s problem is that he saw his “blessings” as possessions and not as opportunities to share. We are called, as people of God, to share the gifts we have been given. Some have been given the gift of music; some of writing; some of talking on the phone; some of taking out the garbage for a neighbor. You get the idea, seeing a need and doing what we can, living out the message of God’s Word. Being kind to those we know and those we do not know, that is the lifestyle attitude that following Jesus is all about.
