Summary
This weekend we celebrated Christ the King. It was the last weekend of the Church year before the beginning of Advent. This is a time of transition; putting an ending to this year’s journey of faith while also an introduction to the one whose birth we are preparing for and life we are called to follow. In the book of Revelation, the writer, John, introduces us to Jesus and what his life, death, and resurrection mean to us. John compares what type of King Jesus is to the type of king the world continues to offer us. As we ended this year proclaiming Jesus as the King of kings, we are also preparing ourselves to wait again with anticipation for the coming of God, who comes in an unexpected way while offering us the only hope we need.
