Kindness Through Compassion - Sunday 8 AM
Series: It's Not Always Easy
Summary
Compassion is more than feeling sorry for someone, it is also trying to understand what the other person is going through. Often, when Jesus healed, he also heard their story and their struggle. Jesus understood that the need to be seen and heard was as important as actual physical healing and demonstrated compassion by being concerned about the entire person. So, we too are called to be compassionate with one another. As the quote above reminds us, we do not always know what battle someone is fighting right now, or what wounds they have. We often judge one another without knowing the whole story, without walking a mile in their shoes. Jesus walked in the footsteps of our journey so that he might rescue us and lead us into a new life.
